Pepperoni Pizza Rolls are perfect for game nights, afternoon snacks, or as a side for pizza because no one will complain about getting even more bites of pizza!
Ingredients• all-purpose flour, for the work surface • 1 (roughly 14-ounce) ball refrigerated pizza dough, at room temperature • 1/2 cup marinara sauce, plus more for dipping • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt • 10 slices part-skim mozzarella cheese • 2 ounces sliced pepperoni, divided • 4 sticks mozzarella string cheese
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Flour a work surface.
Roll out the pizza dough on the floured surface until it is flat and 11x18-inches in size.
Spread the marinara sauce over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border at the edges.
Sprinkle the parmesan, oregano, and salt on the sauce, and evenly add the mozzarella slices and half of the pepperoni.
Arrange the string cheese in a line along one long edge of the dough.
Starting from the long edge with the string cheese, roll the dough up as tightly as possible so the string cheese is in the middle of the roll.
Pinch the seam of the dough to seal it and place the roll seam-side down.
Slice the roll into 1-inch pieces with a serrated knife.
Place the rolls cut-side up in a 12-inch round baking dish or cast-iron skillet.
Tuck the pepperoni in between the folds of the pizza rolls, leaving just a little sticking out.
Let the dough rise at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Bake until the crust of the rolls is golden and the filling is bubbly, for about 20-25 minutes.
Serve with some extra marinara sauce for dipping.
