Taking some classic pantry items and a bit of ground beef and whipping it into a hearty, spicy, and savory main course might seem like magic (as will making it in under half an hour), but it's the taste that is truly wondrous! Pantry Staple Dinner proves that you already have everything you need for a meaty and magnificent dinner!


• 1 pound of ground beef • 2 (14.5-ounce) cans of stewed tomatoes • 1/4 cup dried onion, minced • 1 teaspoon salt • 1 teaspoon chili powder • 1/4 teaspoon pepper, plus more to taste • 1/4 teaspoon sugar • 1 cup elbow macaroni


Step 1

In a large skillet, cook the beef over medium heat until no longer pink, about 6-8 minutes.

Step 2

Drain the fat from the skillet.

Step 3

Add the tomatoes, dried onions, salt, chili powder, pepper, and sugar.

Step 4

Bring the mixture to a boil.

Step 5

Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.

Stir in the macaroni.

Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
