Classics never fade away, they just get rediscovered over and over again. Old-Fashioned Rice Pudding is exactly that kind of culinary classic, a worldwide favorite that people fall in love with every day. Tender rice serves as the base for a creamy, sweet, and vanilla-infused sauce, with juicy stars of golden raisins mixed in for bursts of added flavor. Easy, speedy, and sweet-tooth satisfying, Old-Fashioned Rice Pudding sings a tune everyone recognizes and that everyone wants to sing along with!

• 1 1/2 cups rice, cooked • 2 cups milk, divided • 1/4 teaspoon salt • 2/3 cup golden raisins, optional • 1 egg, beaten • 1/3 cup white sugar • 1 tablespoon butter • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Step 1

Combine the rice, 1 1/2 cups of the milk, and the salt in a saucepan over medium heat.

Step 2

Cook and stir the mixture until thick and creamy, about 15-20 minutes.

Step 3

Stir in the remaining milk, raisins, the beaten egg, and white sugar, stirring continually so the egg doesn't scramble.

Step 4

Continue cooking until the mixture sets, 2-3 minutes.

Step 5

Remove the saucepan from the heat.
