Ready to swing on a star of nostalgic flavor? These Nostalgia Cookies can take you back in time as only classic, old-fashioned chocolate chip cookies can. Every bite is buttery, chocolatey, and just the right amount of salty with a perfect melt-in-your-mouth texture. Served right alongside a tall glass of milk, the Nostalgia Cookies are perfect for a late-night treat or a moonlight serenade. Let them whisk you off your feet!

• 1/2 cup granulated sugar • 3/4 cup brown sugar • 1 teaspoon kosher salt • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened • 1 large egg • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda • 2 cups chocolate chips • sea salt, to taste • milk, for serving

Step 1

In a large bowl, whisk together the kosher salt, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and butter, until a paste with no lumps forms.

Step 2

Whisk in the vanilla and egg, beating until light ribbons fall off of the whisk and remain shortly before dissolving back into the mixture.

Step 3

Sift in the baking soda and flour, then fold with a spatula to combine, being cautious to not over-mix.

Step 4

Fold in the chocolate chips.

Step 5

Chill the dough for 30 minutes, or overnight if a richer flavor is desired.

Step 6

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 7

Then, line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 8

Scoop the dough up with an ice-cream scoop onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving 4 inches of space between the cookies and 2 inches of space from the edges of the pan.

Step 9

Bake until the edges have started to slightly brown, for 12-15 minutes.

Step 10

Top each cookie with a sprinkle of salt, to taste, once they come out of the oven.

Step 11

Let the cookies fully cool before serving with a glass of milk.
