Ma’s Fried Green Beans are a great addition to any meal! In just 20 minutes, you will have a side that is full of flavor and comfort.


• Peanut oil, for frying • 1 cup beer • 1 cup all-purpose flour • 2 teaspoons salt, plus more for seasoning • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper, plus more for seasoning • 1 pound green beans, ends trimmed


Step 1

Preheat the oil to 375 degrees F.

Step 2

In a bowl, whisk together beer, flour, salt, and pepper until smooth.

Step 3

Dip each green bean into the batter, allowing the excess to drip off. Fry the battered green beans in the peanut oil in batches. Cook until golden and crispy. Remove from oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
