Ingredients
• 2 (20-ounce) cans of unsweetened crushed pineapple, undrained • 1 medium onion, finely chopped • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar • 1/4 cup dijon mustard • 2 1/2 pounds deli ham, thinly sliced • 2 tablespoons cornstarch • 2 tablespoons water • 10 slices Swiss cheese or cheddar cheese, optional • 10 kaiser rolls, splitDirections
Mix together the pineapple, onion, light brown sugar, and mustard.
Place half of the pineapple mixture into a 5-quart slow cooker.
Top the mixture in the slow cooker with 1/2 of the ham.
Repeat the layers.
Cover and cook on low until heated through, for about 3-4 hours.
Using tongs, remove the ham from the slow cooker, leaving the pineapple mixture in the slow cooker. Keep the ham warm.
In a large saucepan, mix the cornstarch and water together until smooth.
Stir in the pineapple mixture.
Bring the mixture to a boil.
Reduce the heat to low.
Simmer, uncovered, until the mixture is slightly thickened, stirring occasionally.
Serve the ham, pineapple mixture, and cheese on the kaiser rolls.
