Ingredients• 2 sticks of unsalted butter • 8 ounces bittersweet or semisweet chocolate, roughly chopped • 4 large eggs • 1/2 teaspoon salt • 1 cup granulated sugar • 1 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract • 1 cup all-purpose flour, spooned into a measuring cup and leveled off with a knife
Place an oven rack in the middle position. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, making sure the parchment paper slightly overhangs the sides of the pan. Grease the parchment paper with butter or nonstick cooking spray.
Place the butter in a medium, microwave-safe bowl and melt in the microwave until bubbling.
Add the chocolate and whisk until the chocolate is completely melted. If the butter is not hot enough to melt the chocolate, heat the mixture in the microwave in 20-second increments until it reaches the right temperature.
Whisk the eggs in a large bowl. Add the salt, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla, whisking until smooth and no lumps remain.
Slowly whisk in the chocolate-butter mixture. Add the flour and whisk until the batter is uniform.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
Bake until the top forms a shiny crust and the batter is moderately firm, for about 45 minutes.
Cool completely in the pan on a rack.
Lift the brownies out of the pan using the parchment overhang.
Transfer the brownies to a cutting board. Trim away the edges and cut the brownies into 2-inch squares.
