Hamburger Jazz

Swing your way to a new (or, for some, an old) casserole favorite! Hamburger Jazz has flavors to pick you up when you're feeling the blues or when you want to let the good times roll! Ground beef and creamy rice in a tomato-bright and creamy sauce and topped with toasted, creamy cheese—it all comes together to make a big band of taste! Hamburger Jazz only takes 30 minutes to make, so you can jazz up your weeknight rotation anytime!


Ingredients

• 1 pound ground beef • 1 (10.75-ounce) can cream of mushroom soup • 1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes with juice • 1/2 cup long-grain white rice • 3/4 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded • salt, to taste • pepper, to taste

Directions

Step 1

In a skillet over medium-high heat, crumble the ground beef.

Step 2

Cook and stir the beef until it is evenly browned, for about 6-8 minutes.

Step 3

Drain off the grease from the skillet.

Step 4

Stir in the mushroom soup, diced tomatoes and juice, and rice.

Step 5

Cover the skillet and reduce the heat to low.

Step 6

Simmer, stirring occasionally, until the rice is cooked, about 15 minutes.

Step 7

Preheat the oven broiler.

Step 8

Transfer the beef mixture to a 9x13-inch casserole dish.

Step 9

Sprinkle the cheese on evenly.

Step 10

Broil until the cheese is melted and toasty, about 4-5 minutes.

Step 11

Season with salt and pepper and serve!
