With Grilled Orange Chicken Skewers in hand, your cookout will feel just that more like summer at its finest... and that your grill is performing its job to the fullest!
Ingredients• 1/4 cup Maggi sauce or soy sauce • 1/4 cup orange juice, freshly squeezed • 1 tablespoon orange zest • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced • 1/2 tablespoon white pepper, optional • 1 teaspoon black pepper • 3 chicken breasts, boneless, skinless, and cut into 1 1/2-inch-thick cubes • olive oil, for brushing • 1/2 tablespoon cornstarch
In a medium bowl, combine the Maggi sauce, orange juice, orange zest, vegetable oil, garlic, white pepper, and black pepper, stirring well until combined.
Add the chicken breast and stir to coat.
Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour and up to overnight.
Lightly brush the grill grates with olive oil.
Preheat the grill over medium heat.
Remove the chicken from the marinade, reserving the marinade.
Thread the chicken onto soaked wooden or metal skewers (about 6-7 pieces per skewer).
Place the skewers evenly on the grill and grill until the chicken reaches 165 degrees F internally, about 8-10 minutes per side.
In a small cooking pot on the stove-top, add the reserved marinade and heat over medium heat until it starts to boil, about 2 minutes.
Add the cornstarch, stirring continually until fully dissolved and the sauce begins to thicken.
Transfer the skewers to a plate and serve with the sauce.
