Garlic Brown Sugar Chicken Thighs is a simple recipe that’s elevated enough to wow your spouse or friends.
Ingredients• 8 chicken thighs, bone-in and skin-on • salt, to taste • ground black pepper, to taste • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided • 4 cloves garlic, minced • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar • 1 tablespoon honey • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper.
Melt 2 tablespoons of the butter in a large oven-proof skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken, skin-side down, and sear until brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
Transfer the chicken to a plate and set it aside.
Melt the remaining butter in the skillet.
Add the garlic, cooking and stirring until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the brown sugar, honey, oregano, thyme, and basil until well combined.
Return the chicken to the skillet.
Bake in the preheated oven until the chicken is no longer pink at the bone and the juices are clear, about 25-30 minutes. An instant-read thermometer inserted near the bone should read 165 degrees F.
Remove the chicken from the oven and transfer it to a plate to rest for 5 minutes.
