This Fan-Favorite Turkey Chili is a lighter take on the classic chili, substituting ground beef for ground turkey. But that doesn’t mean this chili skimps out on the flavor; it’s still as richly savory and hearty as the classic recipe. Filled with tender veggies, satisfying beans, and the kick of chili spices, Favorite Turkey Chili is designed to become your favorite in a hurry! Winter never felt so warm!


• 1 tablespoon olive oil • 1 onion, chopped • 1 red bell pepper, diced • 1 green bell pepper, diced • 1 cup carrots, diced • 1 clove garlic, minced • 3 teaspoons ground cumin • 2 tablespoons chili powder, plus more to taste • 1 pound ground turkey breast • 14 1/2 ounces mild salsa • 3 cups chicken broth • 2 (14.5 ounce) cans black beans, drained and rinsed • 1 tablespoon low-sodium tomato paste


Step 1

Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over medium-low heat.

Step 2

Add the onions, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, carrots, and garlic.

Step 3

Cook until the onions are golden and veggies are tender, about 8 minutes, stirring frequently.

Sprinkle the ground cumin and chili powder.

Add the ground turkey breast and stir, breaking up the meat.

Heat until the meat is cooked through, 5-7 minutes.

Add the salsa, chicken broth, black beans, and tomato paste.

Simmer over medium heat.

Lower the heat.

Simmer uncovered until liquid has reduced and the chili has thickened, about 45 minutes.
