Everyone knows the best part about baking cookies is that little bit of dough you get to eat off of the spoon. But what if you could safely enjoy heaping spoonfuls of delicious cookie dough? With our safe-to-eat chocolate chip cookie dough recipe, now you can!
Ingredients• 1 cup all-purpose flour, heat-treated to kill bacteria • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar • 1/4 teaspoon salt • 1 1/2 tablespoons milk, then more as needed • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract • 1/2 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
Combine the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a medium mixing bowl. Sprinkle evenly with salt.
Use an electric hand mixer to beat the contents in the bowl together until fluffy. This will take about 3 minutes.
Add 1 1/2 tablespoons of milk and the vanilla extract and mix to combine.
Mix the flour in until just combined. If needed, add more milk 1/2 tablespoon at a time to thin out the batter.
Carefully fold in the chocolate chips using a rubber spatula. Store the cookie dough in the refrigerator. Please note, due to the butter, the dough will harden in the refrigerator. When ready to eat, you can let it rest at room temperature if you like.
