Ingredients• 2 pounds chicken breasts, boneless, skinless, cut into 1-inch cubes • 1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt • 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander, optional • kosher salt • freshly ground black pepper • 1 onion, chopped • 5 cloves garlic, minced • 1 tablespoon freshly minced ginger • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric • 2 teaspoons ground cumin • 2 teaspoons paprika • 2 teaspoons garam masala • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper • 1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes • 1/2 cup heavy cream • kosher salt • fresh cilantro, chopped, for garnish • rice or naan, for serving
Directly in the bowl of your slow cooker, combine the chicken, yogurt, ground coriander (if using), salt, and pepper.
Let marinate for 15-20 minutes.
To the slow cooker bowl, add the onion, garlic, ginger, turmeric, cumin, paprika, masala, and cayenne pepper.
Add the tomatoes and combine.
Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook for 4 hours on high or 8 hours on low. Make sure the chicken cooks through and is no longer pink inside. Upon inserting a meat thermometer, the thickest part of the chicken should read 165 degrees F.
Turn off the slow cooker, stir in the heavy cream, and garnish with fresh cilantro.
Serve warm with rice or naan.
