The chicken is magnificent—tender and covered in a spicy, lightly creamy sauce. Serve Easy Slow Cooker Chicken Tikka Masala with rice or naan for a scrumptious meal!

• 2 pounds chicken breasts, boneless, skinless, cut into 1-inch cubes • 1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt • 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander, optional • kosher salt • freshly ground black pepper • 1 onion, chopped • 5 cloves garlic, minced • 1 tablespoon freshly minced ginger • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric • 2 teaspoons ground cumin • 2 teaspoons paprika • 2 teaspoons garam masala • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper • 1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes • 1/2 cup heavy cream • kosher salt • fresh cilantro, chopped, for garnish • rice or naan, for serving

Step 1

Directly in the bowl of your slow cooker, combine the chicken, yogurt, ground coriander (if using), salt, and pepper.

Step 2

Let marinate for 15-20 minutes.

Step 3

To the slow cooker bowl, add the onion, garlic, ginger, turmeric, cumin, paprika, masala, and cayenne pepper.

Step 4

Add the tomatoes and combine.

Step 5

Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook for 4 hours on high or 8 hours on low. Make sure the chicken cooks through and is no longer pink inside. Upon inserting a meat thermometer, the thickest part of the chicken should read 165 degrees F.

Step 6

Turn off the slow cooker, stir in the heavy cream, and garnish with fresh cilantro.

Step 7

Serve warm with rice or naan.
