• 6 large Honeycrisp, gala, or ambrosia apples, peeled, cored, and finely chopped • 1/3 cup raw sugar • 1/2 cup light brown sugar • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon • 1/8 teaspoon allspice • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg


Step 1

Place the apples in a slow cooker.

Step 2

Top the apples with the sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg and mix well.

Step 3

Cover and cook, stirring once halfway through, until the apples are tender and dark brown, about 5 hours on high or 10 hours on low.

Step 4

Uncover and puree the apples with an immersion blender.

Step 5

Cook on high, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until thickened, about 2 hours.

Step 6

Serve or spoon into jars, cover, and refrigerate.
