Ingredients• 2 tablespoons onion, finely chopped • 2 tablespoons ketchup • 1 clove of garlic, minced • 1 teaspoon sugar • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce • 1 teaspoon steak sauce • 1/4 teaspoon cider vinegar • 1 pound of ground beef • 4 slices of sharp cheddar cheese • 4 hamburger buns, split and toasted • 8 bacon strips, cooked • lettuce leaves, optional, for topping • tomatoes, optional, sliced, for topping • onion, optional, sliced, for topping • pickle slices, optional, for topping
Preheat the grill to medium heat or preheat the broiler.
In a large bowl, combine the onion, ketchup, garlic, sugar, Worcestershire sauce, steak sauce, and cider vinegar.
Crumble the beef over the mixture and mix well.
Shape the mixture into four patties.
Grill the burgers, covered or broil 3-inches from the heat until the juices run clear and a thermometer reads 155 degrees F when inserted into the center, about 4-7 minutes on each side.
Top with the cheese and continue cooking until the cheese is melted, for about 1 minute.
Serve the burgers on the buns with the bacon and your favorite toppings.
