Ever wonder Texas Roadhouse® steaks are so tasty? Wonder no longer! The Copycat Texas Roadhouse® Steak Rub delivers the sweet, smoky, and savory flavors that make the meat taste extra scrumptious! There’s of course salt, pepper, and garlic powder, but there are a few unexpected additions in Copycat Texas Roadhouse® Steak Rub like brown sugar and turmeric. All of the spices combine to create a complex flavor and satisfying sear on the grill.


• 8 teaspoons coarse kosher salt • 8 teaspoons brown sugar • 1 teaspoon cornstarch • 2 teaspoons garlic powder • 1 teaspoon onion powder • 1 teaspoon turmeric • 2 teaspoons paprika • 2 teaspoons chili powder • 4 teaspoons black pepper • steak(s), as many and of the cuts to your taste


Step 1

Combine the kosher salt, brown sugar, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, turmeric, paprika, chili powder, and black pepper in a quart-sized resealable bag and seal it tightly.

Step 2

Shake the bag to thoroughly combine all ingredients.

Step 3

Generously cover each side of the steak(s) with the seasoning and let it rest for about 40 minutes.

Step 4

Preheat the grill to medium-high

Step 5

Once the grill is hot, place the steak(s) on it and cook until browned and slightly charred, about 4-5 minutes.

Step 6

Flip over and cook to your liking.

Step 7

Let the steak rest for at least 5 minutes, then serve hot.
