Why sit through the long drive-through line when you can make everyone's favorite chicken nuggets in the comfort of your own home? This recipe is definitely kid-approved and loved by adults, too. Enjoy with a side of coleslaw or homemade fries, and don't forget your dipping sauces!

• 2 large eggs • 1 cup milk • 1 pound chicken breasts cut into 1-inch chunks • 3/4 cup flour • 3/4 cup breadcrumbs • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar • 2 teaspoons Kosher salt • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder • 3 inches of peanut oil

Step 1

Pulse the breadcrumbs together in a food processor until very fine.

Step 2

Add the chicken pieces, milk, and eggs to a large Ziplock bag and squish together/shake to combine. Place the bag with the chicken in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes.

Step 3

Fill a large pot or Dutch oven with about 3 inches of peanut oil. Heat oil 365-375 degrees F and watch the temperature carefully throughout the cooking process.

Step 4

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the breadcrumbs, flour, salt, white pepper, powdered sugar, and chili powder.

Step 5

Dredge the chicken pieces in the breadcrumb mixture and allow them to dry for a few minutes.

Step 6

Working in small batches, fry the chicken until golden brown and crisp. Remove to a wire rack or sheet pan. Do not dry on paper towels as the nuggets will get soggy from the steam.
