Coffee-Crusted Beef Tenderloin

Coffee-Crusted Beef Tenderloin uses espresso beans as part of an aromatic and smoky-sweet rub that enhances the beefy flavor of the tenderloin. Once seared and roasted to perfection, the tenderloin has a jacket that you'll be dreaming of from now on! Coffee-Crusted Beef Tenderloin is relatively easy to make and results in an unbelievable main course. It'll wake up your tastebuds in an instant!


• 1/4 cup espresso beans, finely ground • 3 tablespoons brown sugar • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon • ground cayenne pepper, to taste • salt, to taste • ground black pepper, to taste • 2 (6-ounce) beef tenderloin steaks • 1 tablespoon canola oil


Step 1

Sift the ground espresso beans, brown sugar, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper together in a bowl.

Step 2

Generously coat all sides of both steaks with the espresso mixture.

Step 3

Place the steaks on a plate and refrigerate until the flavors blend together, for about 30 minutes.

Step 4

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 5

Heat a large ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat.

Step 6

Add the canola oil.

Step 7

Once the oil is shimmering, add the steaks and cook until the bottom of each steak is browned, about 1 minute 30 seconds to 2 minutes.

Step 8

Flip the steaks.

Step 9

Place the skillet in the oven.

Step 10

Roast the steaks until they reach the desired doneness, 135 degrees F for medium-rare, about 4-5 minutes.

Step 11

Transfer the skillet from the oven and tent with aluminum foil and let the steaks rest for 5 minutes.
