Ingredients• 15 servings sugar cookie dough, pre-made or store-bought • 15 rock candies, various colors, crushed
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Line a cookie tray with parchment paper.
Roll out the cookie dough so it is 1/2-inch-thick.
Use large cookie cutters to cut the dough into shapes, such as stars, circles, or Christmas trees. If you have excess dough, you can re-roll it out and cut it to make sure none of it goes to waste.
Use smaller cookie cutters of the same shapes to cut out the center of the shaped cookies. You may discard this piece or bake it as an extra treat.
Place the large, hollow cookie on the prepared cookie tray.
Add some of the crushed rock candy to the center of each cookie, using a toothpick to spread it out evenly throughout the center and only filling each cookie about halfway to prevent overflows.
Bake the cookies until the candy in the center is fully melted and the cookies are golden-brown on the edges.
