Ingredients• 2 lime wedges, optional, for rimming the glass and decorating • coarse salt, optional, for rimming the glass • 1 1/2 ounces silver tequila • 1 ounce orange liqueur • 3/4 ounce lime juice, freshly-squeezed • agave nectar, optional, to taste • ice, optional, for filling the glass
Run the lime wedge around the top rim of a margarita glass, using the juice of the fruit.
Fill a shallow bowl with the coarse salt and dip the rim of the margarita glass into the salt, covering it with the desired amount of salt. Set it aside for later.
Add the tequila, orange liqueur, and lime juice into a cocktail shaker, and shake the mix until it is fully combined.
Taste the mixture to check if the margarita is at your desired level of sweetness.
Stir in the agave nectar, adding in as much as desired.
Fill up the rimmed glass with your desired amount of ice.
Pour the margarita mixture into the glass and over the rocks.
Serve immediately so the ice does not melt, decorating with an extra lime wedge for garnish.
