Beginners Brisket

Making a brisket doesn't have to be overwhelming and this is the perfect recipe to get you started! This Beginners Brisket is simple, flavorful, and no-fuss. Prep in a matter of minutes and let it bake for 3 hours.


• 3-4 pounds chuck roast OR 3-4 pounds beef brisket • 1 large white onions, chopped • 1 cup ketchup • 1 envelope dry onion soup mix • 1/2 cup water


Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 2

Use aluminum foil to line awalled roasting pan and coat with cooking spray or very lightly with olive oil.

Step 3

Place the cut of meat in the pan, combine all ingredients together in a bowl and mix, and pour over beef.

Step 4

Cover the roasting pan with aluminum foil and bake for 2 3/4 to 3 1/4 hours or when internal temperature reaches 165 to 170 F. Remove from oven and let rest covered for 10 minutes. Slice and enjoy with your favorite sauce and sides!
