Cookouts and barbecues demand something more from their finger foods than can be found in the freezer! They call for something like BBQ Chicken Bites, an easy and speedy way to whet appetites and excite tastebuds while you're waiting for the next course. Just imagine it: the chicken is juicy and tender, seasoned with zesty steak seasoning and wrapped with a crunchy strip of bacon. Then everything is coated in tangy, sweet, and smoky barbecue sauce. BBQ Chicken Bites are the kind of treat you'll want to constantly pop into your mouth, so make sure you make enough to share!

• 6 bacon strips • 3/4 pound chicken breasts, boneless, skinless, and cut into 1-inch cubes (about 18) • 3 teaspoons Montreal steak seasoning • 1 teaspoon prepared horseradish, optional • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 2

Cut the bacon crosswise into thirds.

Step 3

Place the bacon on a microwave-safe plate lined with paper towels and cover with additional paper towels.

Step 4

Microwave the bacon on high until partially-cooked but not crisp.

Step 5

Place the chicken in a small bowl.

Step 6

Sprinkle the chicken with the steak seasoning, tossing to coat.

Step 7

Wrap a bacon piece around each chicken cube, securing them with a toothpick.

Step 8

Place the chicken cubes on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes.

Step 9

Add the horseradish to the barbecue sauce. Brush the barbecue mixture over the chicken.

Step 10

Bake until the chicken is cooked through at 165 degrees F internally and the bacon is crisp, for about 5-10 minutes. Serve hot.
